Experience Profile

U.S. based, leading maker of tissue, pulp, paper, packaging, building products and related chemicals.

G-P LEAD (Leveraging Effective Application Development) was a Smithsonian Award nominated program designed to revolutionize the manner in which the company conceived and managed its IT Portfolio. The program consisted of the key areas listed below.

Application Component Library

Managed as an internal product development company, the Application Component Library involved the architecture, design, development and marketing of a library of common software components.  The components provided objects used for security, data access, single sign-on, and provided standard wrappers for interfacing to the company's SAP and other systems.

Knowledge Base

Developed and marketed the use of a comprehensive library of a knowledgebase of software development tips, process/methodology guides, and related software development best practices.  Users can access and download the Application Components (above) through this knowledgebase.

IT Transformation

The G-P LEAD IT Transformational project conducted  workshops, lunch-and-learns, and conducted internal consulting engagements, to transition the company's 28 divisional IT groups to common, enterprise-wide set of processes, toolsets, and development standards.  The program dramatically reduced the overall costs of new application development and ongoing maintenance and support.
